Faith, Faith, Faith
A facebook friend, and blogger I stalk, posted this recently on her status.
"Last
night I worked with the sweetest elderly patient, & like many
others he watched the news profusely all night. As soon as the country
found out who our President would be I had to step out to grab some
supplies. I came back to find the sweet old man on his knees praying
with tears rolling down his face.
Then he told me,"I love the
United States of America & we must abide by the laws of the land.
Whether it be President Obama or Governor Romney we must respect our
leaders & pray for him & our blessed country."
Faith & fear cannot reside in the same place. God bless the United States of America."
After a long day of being [very] unhappy about the political turnout, this was the only thing that anyone has said that has made any sense to me. I can't help but be antsy about our debt as a nation, or the threat in Israel, or even the drastic legislation occurring in DC about abortion and marriage.
These things are bound to happen, it's part of living in these times, and even though I absolutely hate it, I have to live with it. I have to have faith in myself and in what I can contribute, even if it's just within my family or my community, or ward.
It's about having Faith. The Lord knows everything, while I know very little. Maybe these things are all coincidences. Maybe the truly hard times aren't going to happen until hundreds of years after I'm dead. My polisci professor did say that even if our economy didn't improve soon, it would still take at least 50 years for there to be a notable difference in the U.S. I will be so old by then I wont care, right? ha.
Ok, enough with the drama, the point is FAITH. I will move forward in Faith.
There, I'm done with my rant and I feel better already :)
